This is why we can't have nice things.
Royals rookie ace Yordano Ventura had to leave the game in the third inning of his start against the Houston Astros after a significant drop in velocity. Ventura had struggled with poor command the entire game and for the second straight start did not look his best. Andy McCullough has more:
Yordano Ventura left with "lateral elbow discomfort." He will undergo an MRI tomorrow.

"Lateral" indicates it is not "medial" which is typically associated with the ulnar collateral ligament and Tommy John surgery. However, as Jeff Passan points out.
That said: When it comes to UCL injuries, they're never the same. Pain can manifest itself in one place from an injury in another.

So if you're asking me if its time to freak out and panic, I say yes. Yes it is.
