Game 56 Open Thread - Royals vs. Blue Jays

Moustakas is back. Try to contain your excitement.

Dan Hamilton-USA TODAY Sports

The Kansas City Royals look to put Saturday's beatdown behind them and win a four-game series against the current AL East leader when they face off against the Toronto Blue Jays in the Rogers Centre.

Jeremy Guthrie will start the game for Kansas City. Guthrie had a strong performance in his most recent start, but has been disappointing this season, sporting a 4.14 ERA with a 5.26 FIP. The veteran is susceptible to surrendering the longball, so this game could get ugly against the team that leads MLB in home runs.

Mark Buehrle will take the mound for Toronto. Buehrle has a shiny 9-1 record with a 2.33 ERA, but his 4.08 xFIP is more in line with his career numbers. The southpaw has only given up two homers this year; his 2.7% HR/FB% is unsustainable.

Mike Moustakas is back with the big league club, batting eighth and manning the hot corner. David Lesky of Pine Tar press brings us the Royals batting order:

Juan Francisco has had a nice BABIP-fueled start to the season, hitting .275/.365/.596. He's going to cool off; his 34.9% K% will rear its ugly head at some point. The Blue Jays twitter account announced their lineup:

Let's win this one for America.
