It's already the 75th game of the season? Life goes by too quickly when you are working all the time and can only sneak in one Royals game a week (quietly cries to self).
It's the battle of rookies today at Kauffman Stadium, with Roenis Elias facing off against Yordano Ventura. Elias has made 15 starts this season, posting a 3.91 ERA with a 4.10 FIP. His strikeout rate is solid, but he has also been prone the free pass. Ventura has started 13 games, with a 3.26 ERA and a 3.29 FIP.
Ned Yost is rocking his lefty-killer lineup, with Lorenzo Cain leading off and Justin Maxwell and Danny Valencia earning the starting nods. Andy McCullough of the Kansas City Star brings us the lineup:
Instant Disassembly Lineup: Cain 8, Infante 4, Hosmer 3, Butler DH, Gordon 7, Perez 2, Valencia 5, Maxwell 9, Escobar 6, Ventura 1. #royals
