How Fat Billy Butler is According to Twitter

Dan Hamilton-USA TODAY Sports

There's very little questioning of Billy Butler's sveltness, but those that are active on the internet social media platform of "Twitter" really like to express this sentiment.

If you aren't familiar with "Twitter" it is a website that allows users, after registering, to post a maximum 140 character blurb (referred to as a "tweet") to those who have clicked the "follow" button of the user. That's the theoretical use of Twitter, but it has a much different practical use.

Hardly anyone actually uses Twitter to post their feelings on sports, political issues, movies and television etc... Instead they are mostly focused on posting about Billy Butler's weight. According to this survey in March 95% of all Twitter use relates to tweeting about Billy Butler's weight. Since the season has gotten into full swing that use has spiked to 98%.

According to the baseball sabermetric site "FanGraphs", Butler is last in the league in "wRC+ Per Pound Ratio" at 2.49. He's first in OBP (Overall Belly Poundage), second in RBI (RiBeyes Ingested), and fourth in the league in WAR (Weight Above Replacement).

The above stats only reflect the statistical performance and relevance of Billy Butler and his weight. This is leaving out the empirical evidence that one can view in person up to 81 home games a year (or 162 if you truly enjoy ogling Butler).

So the author has taken to the earlier referenced social media platform and will present to you the aforementioned description of tweets that show 100% correlation to the previously stated March study and Billy Butlers weight.

Not a fat reference, but the Royals would be unable to acquire Chris Getz, who is retired, for a current MLB batter.
