Game CXXV Open Thread - The Royals of Kansas City versus the Rockies of Colorado

James Shields versus Tyler Matzek. This actually seems a bit unfair.

The Royals head to the Mile High City to face off against the worst team of the Senior Circuit.

The Rockies sport a 49 - 75 record, a mark in futility only bested by the Rangers' 48 - 76. They are without their two top talents, Troy Tulowitzki and Carlos Gonzalez--the former still looking every bit a superstar when healthy but having his season brought to an end with a torn hip labrum that required surgery this past week, and the latter having been hampered by a knee injury that has rendered him relatively useless this season and finally necessitated surgery yesterday.

The Royals will be sending James Shields to the mound. While James Shields's tendency to give up home runs could well work their way into the goings-on this evening, the thoroughly pedestrian former highly touted prospect Tyler Matzek will be pitching for the Rockies. To say the Royals would be favored in this match-up would be an understatement.
