Game 147: Bah-stan Red Sox at Kansas City Royals

Is the fifth time the charm to get a victory against the last place Red Sox?

Peter G. Aiken-USA TODAY Sports

Okay, let's turn the page.

Last night stunk. Liam Hendricks stunk. The defense stunk.

It's a new day. A new opportunity for the first-place Kansas City Royals, who need a bounce back tonight against the Boston Red Sox. Facing rookie pitcher Allen Webster (and his ERA of near 6.50), even an offensively challenged team like the Royals figure to score at least a handful of runs tonight.

The lineups are pretty much what we've seen the last few days, with Billy Butler being plugged in for Josh Willingham. If you don't believe me, here's the evidence:

No David Ortiz for Boston. Boys, tonight is the night. If Kansas City loses this one, they may not be in first place come dawn tomorrow, and nobody will be able to say they deserved to stay there.

No excuses, Royals. Get 'er done.
