New, comments

Here we go.

The Royals and Blue Jays face off with the two best records in the American League. The Jays are known for their offense, but the Royals held their own, finishing sixth in runs scored. Here's how Blue Jays manager John Gibbons lines them up for Game One against right-handed pitcher Edinson Volquez:

LF Ben Revere

3B Josh Donaldson

RF Jose Bautista

DH Edwin Encarnacion

1B Chris Colabello

SS Troy Tulowitzki

C  Dioner Navarro

CF Kevin Pillar

2B Ryan Goins

Navarro gets the start over Martin because he typically catches Marco Estrada. Edwin Encarnacion is 3-for-9 with a home run. Jose Bautista is just 2-for-17 with two walks against Volquez lifetime. Troy Tulowitzki is 3-for-14 with a pair of doubles. Ben Revere is hitless in eight tries. Josh Donaldson has yet to put the ball in play in three chances against Volquez, getting hit once, walking once, and striking out once.

Here's Ned Yost's lineup against right-handed pitcher Marco Estrada:

SS Alcides Escobar

2B Ben Zobrist

CF Lorenzo Cain

1B Eric Hosmer

DH Kendrys Morales

3B Mike Moustakas

C Salvador Perez

LF Alex Gordon

RF Alex Rios

Eric Hosmer is 4-for-5 with a double lifetime against Estrada. Alcides Escobar is 2-for-7, Alex Rios is 2-for-5 with a double. Kendrys Morales is 1-for-5 with a double. Lorenzo Cain is 2-for-6. Ben Zobrist is 1-for-3. Salvador Perez is 1-for-5. Mike Moustakas is hitless in seven tries. Alex Gordon has never faced Estrada.
