Royals/Blue Jays ALCS Game Two starting lineups

New, comments

The Royals have outscored opponents 19-2 over their last 20 innings.

Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

The Royals have been on a roll, outscoring opponents 19-2 over their last 20 innings dating back to the rally in the eighth inning of Game Four of the ALDS against Houston. Their only mistake has been one hanging pitch to Luis Valbuena, and they have shut out opponents otherwise. The Royals offense has been clicking, scoring nearly a run per inning. Can they keep it up today against David Price?

Here is how John Gibbons lines up his Blue Jays against right-handed pitcher Yordano Ventura:

LF Ben Revere

3B Josh Donaldson

RF Jose Bautista

DH Edwin Encarnacion

1B Chris Colabello

SS Troy Tulowitzki

C Russell Martin

CF Kevin Pillar

2B Ryan Goins

Encarnacion gets the start despite re-injuring his index finger last night. He is 1-for-3 in his career against Yordano Ventura with two walks. Jose Bautista is 3-for-5 with a home run. Josh Donaldson is 1-for-6 with a home run, walk, and strikeout. Chris Colabello is 1-for-6 with three strikeouts. Ben Revere is hitless in four trips, Kevin Pillar hitless in three, and Ryan Goins hitless in two.

Ned Yost's group has been on a tear lately. Here's how they line up against left-hander David Price:

SS Alcides Escobar

2B Ben Zobrist

CF Lorenzo Cain

1B Eric Hosmer

DH Kendrys Morales

3B Mike Moustakas

C Salvador Perez

LF Alex Gordon

RF Alex Rios

Alex Rios has had the most career success against Price in his career, hitting .400/. 455/.800 with two home runs, four doubles, and a triple in 33 plate appearances. Kendrys Morales has had less success, hitting .238/.274/.238 in 22 plate appearances. Lorenzo Cain is 4-for-11 with a home run. Ben Zobrist is 2-for-6 with a double. Alex Gordon is 3-for-14 with a double. Eric Hosmer is 2-for-11. Salvador Perez is 3-for-9 with a home run. Alcides Escobar is 2-for 7, Mike Moustakas is 1-for-7.

First pitch is at 3:07 on Fox Sports 1.
