The Los Angeles Dodgers sit but half a game behind the Royals in the pursuit of Spring Training Lordship. The Royals threw out Edinson Volquez to face the Milwaukee Brewers yesterday, but it appears that he was not up to the task. Volquez gave up 6 runs over 4 innings.
Alcides Escobar saw 6 pitches in 3 plate appearances at the leadoff spot. Salvador Perez and Mike Moustakas each saw 7 pitches in their 3 plate appearances. Whit Merrifield saw 12 pitches in his 2 plate appearances. Everyone is in mid-season form I guess.
Other pitchers who appeared in yesterday's game included Michael Mariot, Jason Frasor, Kelvin Herrera, Franklin Morales, and Ryan Madson. It has been said that Morales has a good chance of making the team out of Spring Training. Morales gave up a run in his 1 inning through 2 hits and 1 walk while failing to record a strikeout.
Lineups for today:
Soggy Cactus: Orlando 9, Colon 4, Cain 8, Hosmer 3, Morales DH, Roberts 5, Sierra 7, Boscan 2, Noriega 6, Vargas 1.

Lorenzo Cain is a scratch due to the field conditions, which are wet.
