Royals vs. Mariners, Spring Training game 24

I'm already sick of the Mariners.

Matt Kartozian-USA TODAY Sports

The soldiers are growing weary in the Battle of Grass Creek as the Royals face the Mariners for the second consecutive day. The Royals are pretty much just trying to stay healthy at this point with Alex Gordon (wrist) and Omar Infante (elbow) trying to return from injuries and get in game shape. After contests, they are returned to their mylar-encased container until the next performance.

The Royals really only have two battles left in camp, the final bullpen spot which pits Louis Coleman vs. Brian Flynn, and the final bench spot which has received very little attention, likely because Ned Yost will never use this player. My best guess is that the spot is down to infielder Ryan Roberts, Ryan Jackson, and outfielders Moises Sierra and Paulo Orlando with Whit Merrifield perhaps a long shot at this point. Of course, it still wouldn't surprise me if they decided to go with the eight-man Voltron bullpen.

Fire will be throw, just hopefully for not too long. Tonight's game is on Fox Sports Kansas City, MLB Network, and 610 Sports. Its almost like a real game.
