Spring Training Game 26 Open Thread - Royals vs. Cubs

Only one week away from baseball that actually counts

The Kansas City Royals will get the chance to face off against the 2018 World Series champions when they play the Chicago Cubs at Surprise Stadium. The game starts at 3:05 CT.

Edinson Volquez will take the mound for Kansas City in his second to last warmup before the regular season. All that's left for the spring is to hope he doesn't get hurt.

Joe Posnanski provides us with some Sunday morning reading, courtesy of his blog. Posnanski used to be my favorite writer growing up; I devoured his work in the KC Star, and continued reading his blog, books, and work at SI after he left the paper. I stopped reading his work almost entirely after the Paterno debacle, but Poz is still in his element when he writes about baseball and human interest stories.

Also, this is my first post here since the World Series. I had a hectic offseason that kept me away from the keyboard, but don't worry, Royals Review's seventh best Kevin is back to waste your time.
