We inch ever closer to the start of the regular season.  Pitchers, catchers, and fielders have reported.  Players have been predicted to improve.  Others have been found in the best shape of their lives.  Inane discussion of vaguely baseball-related items has drawled on at Royals Review for months.  Some day, the season will end and we will face another cold, dark, lengthy offseason.  But it is not this day.

This day begins fake baseball.  Spring training baseball.  Michael Odin Gregory Heimlich Moustakas's time to shine.

Game one is an intra-complex game between the Rangers and our very own Kansas City Royals.  Unfortunately, there will be no tv of this game, although you can indeed listen on 610 Sports Radio.  It is listed as a 'charity game' on the official schedule, and I'm not sure what that means specifically.  Perhaps it refers to charity towards us fans who have waited decades years months since the Royals were last in the World Series.

Here's your starting lineup:

Root on your AL Champion Kansas City Royals as they play a meaningless game of baseball in a foreign state a month away from the start of the season--for it heralds the coming of the glory of summer.  Amen.
