In the inaugural debut of the Royals on television this year, they'll play the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. One should note that this game will not be broadcasted on Fox Sports Kansas City, but rather MLB.TV. This may change one's definition of what exactly television is or how media is broadcasted, but this will be the first time you can watch the Royals play live.
For those of you without an MLB.TV subscription, your day isn't completely ruined. If you would just be patient, this game will be re-broadcasted on another medium later: MLB Network. Unfortunately...that game won't be played until 8 AM tomorrow morning. I will take the burden of being the bearer of bad news.
Edinson Volquez will take the mound. Opposing him will be the well-bearded Matt Shoemaker. Notable prospects include Raul Mondesi, Cheslor Cuthbert, and a likely eventual appearance by Bubba Starling. It's unfortunate that Brandon Finnegan is not on the docket for the day, because if he and Angels Sean Newcomb were to both appear in this game, we would then have our first game where two first round picks from 2014 played.
