The Kansas City Royals set another television ratings record for Fox Sports Kansas City with a rating of 15.9 for Tuesday's win over the Twins, besting the 14.6 ratings for Sunday's A's game. Four of the five highest-rated games in the history of Fox Sports Kansas City have been this season. The viewing peaked in the eighth inning, as the Royals rallied back, with 179,000 viewers tuned in. The Royals game was easily the most-watched program on in Kansas City last night, beating second-place "CSI: Cyber" on KCTV5/CBS, which pulled a 6.9 rating.
Royals ratings on Fox Sports Kansas City drew an all-time high in 2014, that is on pace to be smashed this year. Last year the Royals were third in all of baseball for local television ratings with an average rating of 6.5. The Royals signed a contract with Fox Sports Kansas City that runs through 2019 that will pay them $20 million a year, one of the cheapest local programming deals in baseball.
