The Royals and White Sox have had their Saturday afternoon game postponed due to rain. No makeup date has been announced, so presumably they won't be playing a doubleheader on Sunday. The Royals next travel to Chicago to play the White Sox July 17. They will also play there the last week of the season on September 29. The Royals also have an off day before and after their series in Chicago against the Cubs in late May. The two teams also share a common off day on June 11, with the Royals traveling between Minnesota and St. Louis.
The Royals-White Sox game on Friday night game was suspended in the ninth inning due to rain with the game tied 2-2. That game will resume action before Sunday's game, weather permitting. The lineup and batting order of both teams shall be exactly the same as the lineup and batting order at the moment the game was suspended, subject to the rules governing substitution. Any player may be replaced by a player who had not been in the game prior to the suspension. No player removed before the suspension may be returned to the lineup.
