Coming off an abysmal start in Cleveland that saw him fail to record an out in the second inning en route to allowing six runs (four earned) in just one official inning of work, Danny Duffy will attempt to show the Rangers and the world that such a dismal performance was anomalous.
Standing in his way will be the suddenly resurgent Rangers, who have won six of their last nine outings to go from an 8-16 record and being 9.5 games back on just the third day of May to 6.5 games back and trailing the second-place Angels by just 1.5 games. Of course, this still means that the Rangers are 13-18, and their standing so close to second place is more a testament to the dumpster fire that every team but the Astros in the AL West looks to be roughly a month into the season, but the Rangers have certainly spent the last week making it seem like they may not be in the discussion for being the worst team in baseball.
The Royals will line up thusly:
God Bless Eric Taylor Lineup: Escobar 6, Moustakas 5, Cain 8, Hosmer 3, Morales DH, Gordon 7, Perez 2, Infante 4, Dyson 9, Duffy 1. #royals
