The Royals have announced that only Standing Room Only tickets remain for tonight and Sunday's games against the Red Sox with Saturday night's game a complete sell out. This shouldn't be a surprise as the Royals are ninth in all of baseball in attendance per game, with 32,419 fans coming through the turnstiles on a nightly basis.

Adding to the excitement this weekend is the return of the Big Slick Celebrity Weekend where famous Kansas Citians return to raise money for Children's Mercy Hospital. Hosts Rob Riggle, Paul Rudd, Jason Sudeikis, David Koechner, and Eric Stonestreet will have some of their favorite Hollywood friends in town for a celebrity softball game at Kauffman starting at 5 p.m. tonight. Other events this weekend include a bowling event at Pinstripes in Overland Park and a VIP Party at the downtown Midland Theater. Now in its sixth year, the annual event has raised $2.25 million for the hospital's cancer center.

Among the invited guests expected to appear: Olivia Wilde, Johnny Knoxville, James Van der Beek, Aisha Tyler, George Wendt, Chris Daughtry, Joe Lo Truglio, Martin Starr, David Zayas, Kevin Rahm, Hilarie Burton, Josh Hopkins, Missi Pyle, Neil Flynn, Robert Smigel, Samm Levine, Seth Morris, and Scott Aukerman.

The Star provides more details:

Rudd said he and the others were amazed by the growth of Big Slick, which started that first year with the hope of raising $50,000.

"It’s humbling and exciting," he said, adding a thank you to the celebrities’ Kansas City area families and an "army of volunteers" who plan and run the event. Of course, with the five actors/comedians in attendance, each with a microphone, they had their fun. Rudd was asked if Ant-Man — the superhero he plays in the upcoming movie — might step in Friday evening if the Royals needed help with the Boston Red Sox. He carefully considered the question.

"I’d have to really look into the rule book," he said. "I’m just saying, there is the capability."
