The Royals are riding high after a four-game winning streak against the Brewers this week that catapulted Ned Yost into first in managerial wins in all of Royals history. But the Red Sox had the Royals number last year, winning six of seven games against Kansas City, despite losing 91 games overall.
Jonny Gomes, Daniel Nava, Scott Downs, and Aaron Crow aren't around anymore to re-create the gut-punching losses to Boston last year, but Ned Yost is still around, still pushing buttons, although the buttons he's been pushing lately have been working.
Pablo Sandoval is back in the lineup after being benched for using Instgram during a bathroom break in the middle of a game. Dustin Pedroia remains out with a knee injury. Yohan Pino makes the start for the Royals after Yordano Ventura was placed on the disabled list. Pino has a 3.69 FIP in 74 1/3 big league innings in his career, which is something I suppose.
Paul Rudd is in the house, so don't let him down, Yohan.
