Rob Tejeda hangs it up.

The former Royal middle reliever has pitched reasonably successfully for the independent Joplin Blasters this year.

Monday night he had a nasty night, though, against the Laredo Lemurs

The Lemurs scored five runs on three hits and two walks in the first inning.

After two perfect innings the floodgates opened

in the fourth he gave up three straight hits, the third a three run homer to Luke Bailey.

I am not an insider, but insiders told me he went to the manager afterwards and said he just did not have it any more.

He is now off the roster, but is working as the pitching coach.

Sic transit gloria baseballum
