In a battle between the top two teams in the American League Central--two teams that the computers and most experts thought could well be bringing up the rear in the division--the Royals travel to Target Field in downtown Minneapolis to face the Minnesota Twins. The Twins currently own the best record in the American League--thanks in large part to recent swoons from both the Royals and Houston Astros--a game better than the visiting Royals.
In the first of a three-game set, the Royals will face K/BB monster Phil Hughes. The Twins get the pleasure of swinging at baseballs thrown by Jason Vargas.
