Though an injury has deprived Royals fans of one of their favorites starting, there are still six Royals suiting up for the American League All-Stars. Three of those Royals are penciled into the lower half of the batting order tonight, perhaps to save them from having to face Senior Circuit starter and former Royal Cy Young Award winner Zack Greinke.
The Royals (and the other guys in the American League) will step onto the field in the hopes of securing home-field advantage in the playoffs, something that the best team in the American League (the Royals, by record) would surely appreciate.
Clearly thinking about where he wants to bat Mike Moustakas when he relieves Josh Donaldson of his duties, Ned Yost and calligraphy fiend Don Wakamatsu scrawled out the lineup card thusly:

Alex Gordon, everyone wishes you were in this lineup, starting as you justly should be. Be well friend.
Lorenzo Cain, Alcides Escobar, Salvador Perez, Mike Moustakas, Kelvin Herrera, and Wade Davis? Kick ass and take names.
Go Royals (and the rest of the American League)!
