Game 142 Open Thread: Kansas City Royals (84-57) vs. Baltimore Orioles (68-73)

The Royals play on the national stage for ESPN's Sunday Night Baseball!

Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

The Royals play on ESPN's Sunday Night Baseball for the third time this year, already having beaten the Tigers and Angels in thrilling fashion earlier this season. The first two games in this series were wild affairs, close for most of the game before exploding into blowouts late in the game. It was the Orioles who went wild on Friday with a pair of grand slams in the eighth inning, but the Royals got their revenge on Saturday with a grand slam of their own by Mike Moustakas in his record-setting day.

Johnny Cueto gets the start tonight, his start having been pushed back a day to give him an extra day of rest. Cueto's struggles recently have been well publicized. The right-hander has given up 21 runs in 20 innings over his last four starts, including a loss to the Orioles on August 26.

The Orioles start lefty Wei-Yin Chen, who beat Cueto in that game. Since then Chen has struggled giving up nine runs in 9 2/3 innings.

Lineups!

On another note, I know that there has been some tension between Royals and Orioles fans lately, particularly on our site. I would like to urge Royals Review readers to hold yourselves to a higher standard and refrain from insults and nasty comments. Also know that anyone that goes over to Camden Chat to stir up trouble will not be welcome back here.

Honestly, we have bigger things to worry about this year than what the fans of a fourth-place club think of our team.
