The first-place Royals open a three-game series in Detroit. One year after getting whipped around by the Tigers, Kansas City enters Friday having won nine of the first 16 games in 2015. One more win would secure the Royals a winning season series against the Tigers.
Johnny Cueto and Justin Verlander take the mound in a matchup of big names pitchers. Ben Zobrist gets the night off, but no worry, because the Royals have Omar Infante fresh off a seven RBI game.
