Friday Night Thread: Royals at Tigers

Johnny Cueto looks to get back on track as the Royals open a series in Detroit.

The Royals have 16 games left. The magic number is six. With the division all but wrapped up, Kansas City looks to add to its two-game advantage in the race for home field throughout the playoffs.

The first-place Royals open a three-game series in Detroit. One year after getting whipped around by the Tigers, Kansas City enters Friday having won nine of the first 16 games in 2015. One more win would secure the Royals a winning season series against the Tigers.

Johnny Cueto and Justin Verlander take the mound in a matchup of big names pitchers. Ben Zobrist gets the night off, but no worry, because the Royals have Omar Infante fresh off a seven RBI game.

Will Cueto get back on track? I say yes. It's gone on too long for him not to.
