Chiefs-Patriots NFL Playoffs open thread

Look for a late Chiefs come back led by Eric Hosmer.

Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

The Chiefs will try to continue their improbable winning streak when they face off against the defending Super Bowl champion New England Patriots at 3:35 today in Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, MA. The Chiefs overcame their first obstacle, winning a playoff game for the first time in 22 years with a 30-0 drubbing of the Houston Texans. The Patriots had a long winning streak of their own this year, winning their first ten, but dropped four of their final six. Quarterback Tom Brady has had trouble avoiding pressure due to a struggling offensive line, but he will reportedly get some weapons back with a healthy Julian Edelman and Rob Gronkowski.

The Chiefs are nicked up with receiver Jeremy Maclin expected to be a game-time decision, and two offensive linemen - Mitch Morse and Laurent Duvernay-Tardiff ruled out for the game. The Patriots are a 4.5 point favorite in the game, which will be televised on CBS. You can follow all the latest Chiefs news and analysis at Arrowhead Pride.

Later today, the Green Bay Packers will take on the Arizona Cardinals in the NFC Divisional Playoff. Tomorrow, the Pittsburgh Steelers take on the Denver Broncos for the right to face the winner of the Chiefs-Patriots game, while the Seattle Seahawks take on the Carolina Panthers.
