The Indians and Blue Jays will get things started today at 3 CT after Cleveland took Game 1 on a two-run blast by Francisco Lindor. Marco Estrada was otherwise brilliant, but apparently he did not have THE WILL TO WIN (or his offense had more complaints about the strike zone than runs). Today it will be J.A. Happ and his 20 wins going for the Blue Jays against Indians right-hander Josh Tomlin. Tomlin gets overlooked for Cleveland’s better starters, but he led the league in lowest walks-per-nine innings, and was a perfectly fine 1.6 WAR pitcher. The game airs on TBS, TBS.com, and the Watch TBS app.
At 7 CT, the Dodgers and Cubs get their much-anticipated series underway at Wrigley Field. The Cubs are in the NLCS for the second consecutive year, but this year has a feeling of dominance. Will the Cubs be able to follow through or will they blow it against a very good Dodgers club? The Dodgers are having to turn around quickly after an epic battle in Game 5 on Thursday. Kenta Maeda goes for them tonight, with closer Kanley Jansen still available despite going 50 pitches on Thursday. The Cubs counter with lefty Jon Lester, just don’t expect him to throw over to first base. The game airs tonight on FS1 and the Fox Sports Go app.
