Will the Cubs take care of business?

MLB: NLCS-Chicago Cubs at Los Angeles Dodgers Kelvin Kuo-USA TODAY Sports

The Cubs will try to win the pennant tonight for the first time since they faced the Angels in the World Series in the hilarious Jim Belushi film “Taking Care of Business.” The Cubs have been referenced plenty in pop culture, mostly as blue collar, loveable losers. That is certainly not the reality now, as Cubs ticket prices are sky high, properties around Wrigleyville are among the highest in town, and the Cubs come into the post-season as favorites to win it all.

If the Hollywood Dodgers are to come back, they’ll start tonight with their biggest start, Clayton Kershaw. Kershaw tossed seven shutout innings his last time out, helping to end any silly narrative that he doesn’t show up in the post-season. Kyle Hendricks will try to close things out for the Cubs. And if the Cubbies can clinch tonight, there are rumors Kyle Schwarber could return to action to DH against the Indians.

But let’s not count our chickens quite yet. The Cubs have blown it before, both in Hollywood, and in real life.
