Chien Ming Wang starts for the Royals against the Rangers in I suppose you could call the "A" game, as it will be broadcast on MLB.tv. Wang has impressed during his time in camp, throwing 6 innings with a 1.17 WHIP and 9.00 K/9. His likely destination is AAA Omaha, where he will reside as injury insurance. He does have an outside shot at making the team as the fifth starter, which comes down to Kris Medlen, Dillon Gee, Danny Duffy, and Wang. Medlen has the inside track, Duffy has not looked great, Gee was added to the 40-man to avoid his opt-out, and Wang has pitched the best out of all of them.
The "B" game has stuff happening too, I bet. I know that the Royals are playing the Seattle Mariners. I have no idea who is playing where in which game. I do know that if you are looking for a location to watch the game, friend of the program and co-host of the Baseball Vault podcast Michael Engel is hanging out at Kelly's Westport Inn for the game. If you're looking to have a drink and watch some meaningless baseball, Kelly's is the place to be.
