Tonight will be the last spring training game for most of the Kansas City Royals. They'll play the Diamondbacks for a two-game set at Chase Field in Arizona starting tonight, but tomorrow most of the regulars will head back to Kansas City to prepare for Sunday's game against the Mets, leaving minor leaguers to finish off the Diamondbacks on Saturday.
Tonight's starting lineup is the likely Opening Night starting lineup. Reymond Fuentes has apparently made the team. The Royals also announced today that catcher Tony Cruz has been optioned to Omaha, giving the backup catcher job to Drew Butera. There are still two roster spots left to be determined with Cody Decker, Whit Merrifield, Terrance Gore, and Chien-Ming Wang vying for the job. The Royals have probably already made their decision, but no announcement has yet been made.
