Voting for the 2016 All-Star Game in San Diego begins today, with online voting available here. Just like last year, voting is done exclusively online. Fans can vote five times in a 24 hour period, and can only vote a maximum of 35 times. These restrictions are likely a response to last year's efforts by Royals fans to stuff the ballot for their home team.
Listed on the ballot for the Royals are Salvador Perez, Eric Hosmer, Omar Infante, Alcides Escobar, Mike Moustakas, Alex Gordon, Lorenzo Cain, and Kendrys Morales. Paulo Orlando is also listed among the outfielders, while Jarrod Dyson is not. Dyson missed the first two weeks of the season with an oblique injury. You can still vote for Jarrod Dyson as a "write-in" candidate. Voting ends June 30 at 11:59 ET. No purchase is necessary to vote.
Ned Yost will manage the American League All-Stars as they prepare to defend their 6-3 victory from last year. The Royals sent a franchise record seven All-Stars to the game last year - Lorenzo Cain, Wade Davis, Alcides Escobar, Alex Gordon, Kelvin Herrera, Mike Moustakas, and Salvador Perez.
The 86th MLB All-Star Game will be held July 12 in Petco Park in San Diego and will be televised by FOX.
