Royals vs. Twins, Game Four Open Thread

The debut of Ian.

The Royals try to keep Minnesota out of the win column today as Ian Kennedy makes his Royals debut. Kennedy's signing was slammed by a lot of national media types, but many in Kansas City felt the move to Kauffman Stadium in front of the Royals outfield defense could help him. We already saw last night how a spectacular defense can save a less-than-impressive outing by a pitcher, Kennedy could also depend on a speedy outfield defense of Alex Gordon/Lorenzo Cain/Paulo Orlando.

Orlando gets his first start tonight as the Royals face their first lefty. Ned Yost says its not a straight platoon, but it will probably be pretty much a platoon. By the way, Jarrod Dyson played his first rehab game in Omaha today, playing just three innings as planned, and scoring on a double by Whit Merrifield with no apparent pain.

The Twins bench their two uber-rookies Miguel Sano and Byron Buxton.
