Tuesday Night Thread: Rays at Royals

Dillon Gee goes for the Royals' fifth straight win.

John Rieger-USA TODAY Sports

The Royals go for five wins in a row, which would be a season-best winning streak, at home against a team they've dominated recently.

Kansas City has won an amazing 13 of its last 14 games against Tampa Bay at Kauffman Stadium. The only loss in that time period was a 1-0 defeat in April 2014, when Wil Myers scored the only run of the game. Since then, Kansas City has won six straight against Tampa at Kauffman. Also, the Royals have not lost a home series to the Rays since 2009.

Suddenly, the Royals find themselves with a 1.5 game lead in the AL Central. Tonight, they'll send Dillon Gee to the hill, where he looks to bounce back from a putrid start at Minnesota in which he allowed six runs. Behind Gee will be this lineup:

Kansas City will face former Tiger starter Drew Smyly. It goes for its sixth straight series win. Should be a fun night at The K.
