Friday Interleague Thread: Royals at Phillies

Ian Kennedy looks to get the Royals on a winning streak.

The last time Kansas City was in Philadelphia, James Shields started and Billy Butler had seven RBI. It's been awhile.

Tonight, Ian Kennedy gets the ball for the Royals as they open a three-game series at Citizens Bank Park against the Phillies. At 35-45, Philadelphia has a solid, young starting pitching staff, but its offense is terrible. Kennedy should be able to keep the Royals in the game, and hopefully, the offense does enough to score the Royals a third straight win.

Here's the lineup for the Royals. They're using the same 1-8 as they did yesterday:

For the Phillies, this is a lineup full of names that aren't exactly household just yet. Philadelphia is going to be good in a few years, but for now, this is definitely a team that the Royals should be able to handle. At least Ryan Howard is still there.
