Royals V. Twins: Game CXVI Thread

Keep the wagon train a-movin'.

Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

It's been a while since the Royals have had one of them there winning streaks, but it is important to note that it has happened before. Not since June 17th-19th, mind you, but it has happened.

The Saturday evening matchup sees Dillon Gee twirling for Kansas City. He's 4-5 with a 4.54 ERA, which is solid fifth starter material for a contending team. His FIP, however, is 5.14, so it is easy to see why people are wary of him pitching every fifth day. With Danny Duffy looking like a beast and Yordano Ventura pitching better-ish of late, the rest of the rotation would be wise to start turning in some decent performances. You know. Just for funsies.

Minnesota counters with TV's Tyler Duffey, who is 7-9 with a 5.93 ERA. So, for the first time in a while, it would appear that the Royals have the advantage when Gee takes the mound.

Football is also a thing this afternoon, so the home crowd that didn't make the trek to Minneapolis is likely to be soused by the time first pitch rolls around. Which, we can't really blame them at this point.
