After winning nine games in a row, the Royals are at 65-60 and sit four games back in the Wild Card standings. The Tigers, Mariners, Orioles, and one of the Blue Jays or Red Sox all sit in front of the Royals, so there is work to do to keep climbing up the ladder.
Unfortunately, Jose Fernandez stands in the way of the Royals winning 10 games in a row. Fernandez is really good. Really, really good. Please do notice the camera angle behind the mound the Marlins have set up - it's directly behind the pitcher. Jose Fernandez's breaking pitch will do inhuman things when viewed from that (proper) camera angle. I've always hated the offset camera angles because it makes it harder to discern horizontal movement. It also makes all lefties look like they aren't pitching toward the plate. It's an annoying thing, perception.
The Royals will have Dillon Gee pitch.
