The Royals have allowed two runs to the Rays in their two games so far. That's a good start to winning games, though the offense could pick it up a bit to keep it going.
Burnin' Billy Burns was called up for this evening's contest and perhaps beyond. With Alex Gordon, Lorenzo Cain, Jarrod Dyson, and Paulo Orlando, there are now five outfielders on the 25-man roster. Several here have suggested the possibility of a corresponding DL stint for Gordon or Cain, but it's also possible that Burns will fill a Terrance Gore-esque role but with the ability to hit. We'll have to wait to see how the Royals deploy Burns. He will not start tonight.
Edinson Volquez gets the start against Jake Odorizzi.
