The Royals conclude their series against the White Sox with a makeup game from a game that was rained out back on May 26. The Royals are still five games out of the Wild Card, and barring a miracle, are out of contention, but they would still like to finish strong and end above .500.
Yordano Ventura goes for the Royals, having given up ten runs over his last two starts. He still has a 3.47 ERA in 12 starts since the All-Star break and could use a strong finish heading into next year. Carlos Rodon goes for the White Sox against the Royals for the fifth time this year. He has a 2.28 ERA against the Royals this year, but the teams have split those four games.
These are today's World Champion Kansas City Royals (better say it while it still applies).
