The Royals have released their 2017 promotional schedule which will include a Rusty Kuntz bobblehead night, Star Wars Day, Girls Night Out, and several other free items. The giveaways start at the home opener on April 10, when magnetic schedules will be given to fans.
There will be seven bobbleheads given out this season, including the much anticipated talking Rusty Kuntz bobblehead on April 28. There will be bobbleheads for Kelvin Herrera (April 29), Danny Duffy (May 13), Alex Gordon (June 3), Kevin Appier (August 19), and George Brett (September 30) as well as one on July 22 that has yet to be determined.
The Salute to the Negro Leagues/Dressed to the Nines Day will be Sunday afternoon on May 7 against Cleveland. The first 15,000 fans will receive a Kansas City Monarchs jersey. “Zubazpalooza”, a celebration of the crazy pants, will be May 5. The Big Slick Celebrity Softball Game that annually features actors like Paul Rudd, Jason Sudeikis, and Rob Riggle will be held June 23. Bark at the Park where fans can brings dogs will be April 19. Star Wars Day will be held September 10. Futures Night featuring Royals prospects will be on September 29. Fan Appreciation Night, which will include giveaways all night, will be on September 30.
School Day, when area schoolkids come to the game for a weekday day game, will be Thursday, May 4 against the White Sox. There will be college nights for local schools that typically feature college-themed Royals cap giveaways. Those include “Kansas State Night” (June 4), “Huskers Night” (July 15), “Mizzou Night” (July 21), “Wichita State Night” (August 5), “KU Night” (August 18).
There will be t-shirts giveaways on April 18, May 16, June 6, June 20, August 8, and September 12. Other giveaways include a tote bag (April 15), coaster set (May 6), ladies sun hat (May 14), a “Los Reales” BBQ apron (June 24), patriotic Royals cap (July 1), Royals children’s book (July 2), baseball cards (August 6), golf visor (August 22), ladies infinity scarf (September 8), sweatshirt blanket (September 9), and early bird schedule with team photo (October 1).
Other promotions include Autism Awareness Night (April 14), Parkinson's Disease Awareness Night (April 29), Boy Scout Day (April 30), WWI Night (May 5), Women's Health Awareness Day (May 14), Nurses Appreciation Night (May 16), Tourism Night (May 17), Viva Los Reales (June 24), Girl Scout Day (June 25), KidsFest (July 2), Oklahoma City Thunder Day (July 16), Organ Donation & Transplant Awareness Night (July 22), Library Night (August 3), Faith and Family Night (August 5), Arts Day (August 6), Legends Night (August 19), Classic Car Show (August 20), Golf Night (August 22), Girls Night Out (September 8), Bacon Day (September 9), Yoga Day (September 10), Folds of Honor Night (September 11), and Special Day at the K (October 1).
There will be Student Nights throughout the year feature local music showcases. There will still be GordoNation Thursdays where fans can purchase a package for the special GordoNation section with a t-shirt, Buck Nights where hot dogs and sodas can be purchased for $1, Price Chop Mondays, 610 Sports Saturdays, and Family FunDay will continue for Sunday home games.
