It seems these playoffs just got started, but we could have our American League Championship Series matchup by tonight as the Astros and Indians will both look to complete series sweeps today. The Astros will have Brad Peacock on the hill to face Doug Fister, who was claimed off waivers in June from the Angels. That’s right, the Red Sox will be counting on someone who couldn’t crack the Angels rotation.
Expect Fister to have a short leash with the game perhaps turning on expensive long reliever David Price or even Chris Sale, who is expected to be available. It may seem like a foregone conclusion, but hey, Houston has seemingly had a post-season series wrapped up once before only to lose it. The game airs on FS1 at 1:30 CS.
The evening pitching matchup is much better with Carlos Carrasco looking to complete the sweep in New York against Masahiro Tanaka. The Indians won Game 2 with a Salvy-esque extra-inning double, and the Yanks will look to get more production from Aaron Judge, still looking for his first hit in this series. The game also airs on FS1 at 6:30 CT.
