Monday’s docket is a full one, with four games filling up our day.
The first game featuring Houston in Boston starts at 12:00 PM CDT and will pit Charlie Morton against Rick Porcello. Up two games to one, Houston has a chance to punch their ticket to the ALCS today. It will be on FS1.
The day’s second tilt is Game 3 of the Nationals / Cubs series. Max Scherzer, whose balky right hamstring has made his presence on the field this postseason a question mark, takes the mound for the Nationals, while the Cubs will turn to Jose Quintana. This series is knotted up at a game apiece. Game 3 will air on TBS and start at 3:00 PM CDT.
The third will see Trevor Bauer duel with Luis Severino with Cleveland needing just one win to advance to the ALCS for the second straight year. Bauer shut down the Yankees in Game 1 of the series, while Severino exited early in the Wild Card Game as the Twins hit him early and often. A win for Severino and the Yankees in Game 4 of this series would knot things up and send the series to a winner-takes-all Game 5. This one will be on FS1 and starts at 6:00 PM CDT.
Finally, Game 3 of the NLDS between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Arizona Diamondbacks will see Yu Darvish and Zack Greinke square off against one another, trying to do what the other pitchers in this series have not been able to do: keep runs off the board. The Dodgers lead this series 2-0. The last game of the day will be on TBS at 9:00 PM CDT.
