The Americans had to come from behind to snatch a victory in extra innings from a Colombian team full of minor leaguers, and blew a lead late to the Dominicans last night in a 7-5 loss. That makes tonight’s game against the dastardly, but handsomely polite Canadians so important. The top two teams from each pool advance to the next round, so a win punches a ticket to the next round for Team USA, while a loss would put them into a tie-breaker scenario, which could mean an extra tie-breaker game.
Danny Duffy gets the ball for Team USA tonight with a chance to SAVE AMERICA. He will be limited to no more than 65 pitches, and after Salvador Pérez’s injury last night in Venezuela’s win over Italy, Royals fans will be hoping he can just get through those pitches without getting hurt.

Haha, Hosmer hitting fifth ahead of Paul Goldschmidt and Giancarlo Stanton. Jim Leyland is channeling his inner Yost. The game will air on MLB Network and stream on MLB TV.
