The two countries join Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic in Pool F, with the top two teams from the pool moving on to the semi-finals. Puerto Rico defeated the Dominican Republic 3-1 last night. Japan and the Netherlands have already qualified for the semis.

Venezuela will have to play without catcher Salvador Perez, who re-joined the Royals after injuring his knee. Royals shortstop Alcides Escobar will be in action for Team Venezuela, who thumped the Royals in a spring training exhibition 11-0 last week.
