The Royals take on the Reds today who are in a rebuilding process which makes their roster look sad, oh so sad. They announced their Opening Day starter this year will be Scott Feldman, who wouldn’t even crack the Royals rotation, which is a mediocre one at best. In my National League-only fantasy league, the only Reds selected were Joey Votto, Adam Duvall, Billy Hamilton, and closer Raisel Iglesias. I’m not looking down on the Reds - a rebuild was necessary and certainly we have been there before. Still, it is just kind of a bummer to see a team look so bad, particularly one with such a great player like Votto.
Jason Hammel gets the start for the Royals today. Ned Yost announced that Salvador Perez will DH on Wednesday and catch on Friday, his first action since his collision in the World Baseball Classic.
