With the season almost upon us, it is time for the Royals to once again shock the world. Already the projection systems don’t believe in the Royals, but it looks like the sportsbooks have foresaken the Royals as well. The sportsbook at Bovada has the Royals as 33/1 odds to win the World Series, unchanged from where they had the team following the World Series last November. The team was 25/1 to win the World Series before the 2015 season when they went on to win it all. The Cubs and Red Sox are the two favorites at 9/2. Bovada has the Royals at 16/1 to win the American League pennant and 27/4 to win the Central Division.

Bovada has the over/under on the Royals win total at 76.5, a bit more optimistic than the 71 wins projected by PECOTA.

As for awards, Bovada lists Eric Hosmer at 100/1 to win American League MVP in his contract year. Mike Trout is a huge favorite at 5/4 with Boston’s Mookie Betts at 5/1 and Houston’s Jose Altuve at 10/1. Danny Duffy is 33/1 to win Cy Young, with Ian Kennedy at 65/1. Chris Sale is the favorite at 7/2 with Corey Kluber at 9/2.

The sportsbook also has a number of over/under prop bets for various Royals players.
