For the first time since game seven of the 2014 World Series, Madison Bumgarner will take the mound at Kauffman Stadium. Tonight at 7:15 PM CDT to be exact.
Fortunately for Royals fans, they have their ace on the mound. That's right. Jason Vargas.
At one point, we thought that this would be a Danny Duffy v. Bumgarner matchup, but the baseball gods wanted to ace against ace.
The game will surely be full of 2014 flashbacks, for better or for worse.
The Royals lineup will look a tad bit different, with a lefty being on the hill for the Giants:
