Game 33: Royals at Rays

The Royals might go streaking

Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

The Royals haven't won three straight games in nearly a month, but they will have the chance to today with a win over the Rays.

Many of us would call that a winning streak.

The Royals offense has lept to life in Tampa, scoring more runs in two games at The Trop (14) than it had scored in its previous six contests (13).

A rebounding Jason Hammel will take the mound for the Royals, giving up just two runs over six innings in his last start after a stretch of giving up eight runs in just six innings.

He will be opposed by Rays ace Chris Archer, who is hot himself, having struck out 22 batters over his last 12 innings.

Meanwhile, friendly face Derek Norris is back in the lineup for the Rays:

A win today would guarantee the Royals their first series win since the Angels series in mid-April.
