Every year, the Kansas City Royals play their first game of the season, months removed from their previous season. And every year, a few games go by, then a week, then another. And then--BAM!--it's almost June and the Royals have played 50 games.
Well, tonight's Game 51, and it sure doesn't seem like it. We're almost a third of the way through the season, folks.
Eric Skoglund will start for the Royals tonight. Skoglund, a third round draft pick from the Royals' 2014 draft, will be making his big league debut. Expect to see more of Skoglund this year, as Nate Karns, Ian Kennedy, and most recently Danny Duffy have spent time on the disabled list. Check out Max's earlier article that explains what an Eric Skoglund is.
Kansas City lost a shootout yesterday, and are looking to make some headway in a long home stretch today. Their lineup:

Jorge Soler sits out yet again. He has played in just two games since May 23.
