With the Royals having won two of the first three games of this series, today marks their first chance to win a series since they swept the Angels five series ago. That series was in fact the only one the Royals have won thus far this season, something that should not be particularly surprising given the fact that Kansas City has yet to win their tenth game a month into the season.
In addition to the Royals looking for their first series win since April 16, Royals' starter Ian Kennedy steps to the mound still wanting for his first win of the season. Lacking a win isn't entirely on Kennedy. His 2.30 ERA and 3.84 FIP suggest that a win shouldn't have been out of the question, but he hasn't exactly had much in the way of run support with baseball's worst offense backing him.
Derek Holland, apparently healthy for the first time in years, will throw baseballs for the White Sox.
