I want you to stop for a moment and check out today's starting pitchers, Mike Clevinger and Danny Duffy, side by side.

Opposites match up!
Could they be any more different? Righty vs lefty. Dark vs light. Long hair vs no hair.
I don't really have anything else to say about that, I just thought it was kind of cool.
Anyway, the Royals are going to play baseball today; those two are going to pitch. If the Royals win they will win their first series since Easter. It would also be their first series victory against a central division opponent, so far this year. Those would be pretty nice things. But really, if that happens, wouldn't it be more accurate to say that the Monarchs went undefeated, this season?

The special Negro Leagues uniforms are always a lot of fun. If you're interested in some things to keep an eye on the game, this will be Clevinger's first big league start of the season. He had a very nice ERA while pitching in AAA but he also apparently had some high pitch counts. If AAA hitters can work counts against him and the Royals can't, that will probably tell us a lot about their prospects for the season.
