Terrance Gore is probably the best baseball player in one area - speed. The 26-year old Royals minor leaguer has stolen 263 bases in seven minor league seasons, plus 19 swipes at the Major League level in just 38 games.
In those 38 MLB games, however, the Royals have only let Gore hit nine times. He is not exactly known for his bat. He is a lifetime .240 hitter in the minors, and standing at 5’7’’, he doesn’t have the stature to hit for much power. In 1,974 times to the plate in his professional career, Terrance Gore has never hit a ball out of the ballpark for a home run.
Until tonight.
Batting tonight for the Omaha Storm Chasers, Terrance Gore did the unthinkable, he made a trip to DONGTOWN.

Here's indisputable video evidence of @TGO7E's 1st professional dinger, a 401 ft blast.#TheImpossibleHasHappened pic.twitter.com/0Yj3GZg2HC
People were impressed.
Gore's HR 96 mph off the bat and a distance of 401 feet.

Seeing Terrance Gore make that trot around the bases made me remember how tiny he is. Encouragement for short people everywhere.

Gore nearly pulled off the feat last night too.
Terrance Gore came VERY close to homering. The Chasers dugout was cheering so hard for it to go out. Alas, he settled for a triple.
