Coming off a walk-off win, the Royals ride some momentum into Thursday's battle with the Detroit Tigers. It's blistering hot outside, so hopefully the bats can keep their firepower going in a heavyweight battle between starting pitchers.
Danny Duffy and Michael Fulmer, two of the top young pitchers in the American League, will square off at the K. Fulmer faced the Royals last month and came within one out of throwing a shutout, while Duffy is coming off a masterful start of his own (8.1 innings, 1 run against Texas).
Of course, this is baseball, so tonight will probably be a 12-10 final or something ridiculous. Either way, it's the best on-paper matchup of the series, and the Royals have a chance to get back to .500 (and within one game of first place lol).
